Augmented Empire developer Coatsink is back with its latest VR game, the first it’s specifically developed for release on the Oculus Go standalone headset (and, naturally, Gear VR too). That game is They Suspect Nothing.
Oculus itself announced They Suspect Nothing yesterday at its ‘Inside Oculus 2018’ session at GDC, though we’re just getting concrete details now. In the game, you play as the last human on earth, attempting to survive by infiltrating an elite society of robots. To be accepted into their community you’ll have to pass a series of human detection tests.
That paves the way for 12 different mini-games, each with their own difficulty levels. They Suspect Nothing will see you conduct open part surgery ~(see what they did there?), pilot a drone, keep your cool during robot rush hour and even survive a cataclysm simulator, all controlled with Go’s motion controller. You’ll also be able to make your own robot avatar. The trailer above gives you an idea of the kind of tone you can expect; it’s pretty similar to the team’s first VR games, Esper and its sequel. And, yes, that’s Jim Broadbent you can hear narrating the trailer.
They Suspect Nothing is on display at the Oculus booth at GDC this week. A release date hasn’t yet been announced, though we don’t know when Oculus Go itself is launching yet (reports point towards Facebook’s F8 conference next month).
