The spatial computing world of Magic Leap is no longer limited to the rarefied tones of Sigur Rós and Sennheiser's Ambeo Augmented Audio app. Now, the entire music universe will be at your augmented reality fingertips.
On Wednesday, Spotify launched its music app specially made for the Magic Leap One.

The app is available to Spotify Premium users, a service that allows users to listen to any music, anywhere, advertisement-free, even if you're not online.
If you're not already a Premium user, you can try the service for free for three months, after which it costs $9.99 per month for a single user.
Once you launch the app on the Magic Leap One, you can literally surround yourself with your favorite artists and playlists, all represented by old school album art, but hovering wherever you pin it in augmented reality. Also, the ability to pin your music collection isn't limited to your own particular location, you can also pin music selections to various rooms around your home or office.
The app was facilitated in part by the Background Music Service (BMS), the service Next Reality previewed back in July. What that means is that you'll now be able to list to your favorite music artists on Spotify while engaging in other interactions on the Magic Leap One.
Perhaps the only surprise here, given Magic Leap founder Rony Abovitz's well known music obsession, is that it took so long for an app like Spotify to finally enter the real of spatial computing.
